multimedia arts practice inspired by nature

ABOUT MEG:

Margaret-Anne (Meg) Gooch loves creating, making, experimenting and researching. Her multimedia arts practice includes using using textiles, printmaking, digital work and natural dyes.

She is interested in isolating pigments from natural plant materials and minerals, and making paint from these pigments or using them for dye. Lately, her inspiration and ideas have come from nature, discovering how the natural world inter-relates and expressing this in her art.

Meg grew up in northern New South Wales on a farm, an experience that fostered a love for and empathy with nature. ‘My mother was an artist who encouraged me by her creative example and practice. Surrounded by art books and art atmosphere, I became very familiar, with the life and art of high profile artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and others’.

Meg has a Bachelor of Fine Art & Visual Culture and Diploma of Visual Art. She has studied under teachers who are artists themselves with vision, flair and panache which drew out of their students an appreciation of the avant garde in art.
