ABOUT SARAH:

With a background in editing, books and writing, Sarah brings perspectives of a symbolic and storytelling nature to her practice. Sarah’s work is informed by her connection to landscape, weather, the cosmos and her state of being. She likes to use a variety of metals and occasionally other material, such as textiles, in her work. “I love the way jewellery can change our state, and how it carries meaning through giving, association, relationships and time.”

Sarah’s studio is within her family home – which itself is located at the family farm and native-tree nursery – and her window opens to the paddocks of Tarrawarra, across to Mt Dandenong. Her making is influenced by the nearby native-tree plantings, grasses and waterways, the changing skies and seasons of her surroundings.

Sarah attempts to translate her response to the world and its beauty through making wearable objects. Her pieces are sold locally at Tarrawarra Museum of Art and Verso Books, Healesville.
