ABOUT SERAFINA:

I was born into a creative family, and I am the third generation of artists. I have always been an artist, always been creative, although not all that I create is art. I am also a craftsman.

A lot of my work is 3-dimensional, sculptural although I also work on the flat 2-dimensional surface.

I completed a Visual Arts Degree in Sculpture and have had work in a variety of group exhibitions over time. Recently I have been inspired to start creating and working as an artist again.

I often work with mixed media. Currently my work largely explores the use of natural and found material, weaving, fibre, and basketry techniques to create expressions of emotion and the world around us.

I love to use something in an unexpected way, to tell a story with a twist, to express emotion through my art, to interpret an experience or feeling in an object.

My work is intuitive, emotional, expressive, and often personal, a story or comment which I share with you. Sometimes my work is unapologetically uncomfortable.
