ABOUT DENISE:

Denise Smith’s art practice is genuinely about her love of nature and creating art and awareness of   conservation and preservation of habitats of animals on a global scale.    These images appear on canvases and paper using the mediums of Acrylic paints and inks, pastels, watercolours and mixed media!

Denise’s studio is situated in the beautiful Yarra Valley near the township of Healesville. Having a purpose built studio, north facing, full of light and on her property with the variety of native birds and sometimes native animals dropping by regularly is such a plus for her passion of painting these endearing creatures.

Denise has gained her qualifications by working hard at her craft with intermittent lessons from her peers, also experimentation with all manner of mediums and many years of experience practising her art. Many awards are to her credit by entering a variety of art shows over the years. Denise maintains, “one never stops learning”!

Denise is a regular participant in Yarra Valley Open Studios and conducts workshops in her home studio in Healesville.

Medium: watercolour, acrylic, wildlife painter
